what is the instrument that is used to safe guard domestic electric circuit?

I heard MCB is reqd to safe guard domestic electric circuit however in case of ground MCB will not work what is the other instrument that is more power full and even for slightest leakage of current that will disconnect the circuit in domestic electric connnection

You can use RCD’s these can be bought at any electrical hardware house or Home depot stores online which take a bout 3 to 5 business days if ordered.
