I have a hp notebook with a wireless card.It will only connect when i put a net gear wg111t in it?

Hp says my wireless card is fine.I have exellent signal .If it does connect the page loads so slow,but with netgear it is fine.Whats going on?The netgear was the only way service provider could get it to work.it is costing my an extra 5.00 a month.

I would check the HP support site for a driver update. Make sure when you use the builtin wireless that the Netgear and the computer cable is not atttached. There is a conflict sometimes in the signal acquisition with more than one device active. In the control panel/networks right click on the computer wireless device and make sure it is enabledm then select properties. Double click on the TCP line and a new window should open. In here, make sure there are no entries for IP address or for DNS servers addresses. OK out of everything. Momentarily pull the power plug from the router and let it reboot. Right click the icon in the taskbar and select view available wireless devices. If needed select yours and click on the connect button. If security is set up you will need to enter the code in the pop-up window.
